Hey kids.

Sorry we’ve been out of pocket lately. Internet has been shady. I’m going to break these updates a bit so you’re not completely overwhelmed. Here I go.

Thursday Sep 3:

We headed out from Austin toward Abilene. I (Paige) had never driven that route and was actually pretty impressed. It’s way better than the drive to Dallas, anyway. That night David played a show at Mezamiz with our good friend Jaimee Harris.

We also had our first stalkers on tour.. our good friends Rachel and Erin drove up from Austin as well to hang with us. Needless, to say it was a splendid evening.

Friday, Sep 4:

The initial reason we chose to go to Abilene in the first place was to see our friends Lane and Hannah get married. So we grabbed some local Abilene BBQ with Erin and Rachel and then headed to Lane’s folks’ house to help them set up for the wedding.

I had my first mini session of the tour which was way exciting. I got to photograph Sarah and Marshall in downtown Abilene which actually has quite a few cool spots. It had been raining off and on all day but luckily it let up for that half hour. Don’t worry.. I’ll be posting photos of that soon on here and on photography blog.

We wrapped the night up with Lane and Hannah’s rehearsal dinner and hang time with their wedding party.

Saturday, Sep 5:

I hope I’m keeping these paragraphs short enough to keep your attention.. Saturday was an early one. I slept at the house where the wedding was held so I was woken up around 5:30am. Splendid. But the wedding was precious and we got to see some good friends from Dallas so it was well worth it. I was planning on taking a few photos just for fun but I ended up getting pulled in as a third (yes, third) shooter. Sooooo I’ll be posting some photos from that as well.

After the wedding, we grabbed some Chik-Fil-A with Katy, Austin, Andea, Clint, and baby Bryton before we headed toward El Paso. That drive is loooong but, again, really pretty so it wasn’t too rough. We arrived in El Paso and hung out with my cousin Ross who’s wife is in residency there. I believe the last time David was in El Paso, he slept in a car and was probably eating granola bars for dinner. This time we were set up with a yummy dinner and a comfy bed. Dreams do come true, I guess. :)
